A friend recently asked me if she can edit a Pages file in Google Docs. The short answer is yes, with one additional step.
If a document is saved in Pages format, you cannot convert it to a Google Docs document. To be able to edit a Pages document using Google Docs, you need to export it as a Word or text document first. Once you’ve done that, you can upload it to Google Drive, where it will be converted to a Google Document.
