Summary of my notes.
I only note what makes me think or what’s new. I’ll try to take better notes as the conference goes on.
- hybrid learning – curriculum online but kids also meet teacher face-to-face even at kindergarten level
- Even if you’re a high performing school, not all kids are high performing so we can do better (summarized)
- Jeff Piontek wrote the book on blogging but chooses not to blog because it takes away from his time for his work and his wife and family.
- Complete projects, don’t start 52 things that you can’t finish.
- competition, cooperation and collaboration – 3 skills that we must teach students (these are not my top 3)
- some interesting work called Blue Mars (double check this) between students and museums/university students to create virtual tours/virtual experiences
Questions asked during presentation
Jeff – How do we prepare students for success in a knowledge-based, tech driven, globally competitive world?
