New Creative Commons Search Launched

creative commons search launched

The Creative Commons search site is now out of beta with over 300 million images. You and your students can find images for all your projects and presentations, and it’s easier than ever to create attributions. There are 19 providers catalogued in this database including Flickr, Thingiverse and DeviantArt. For each search, you can filter results by goal, license or provider. Here is what the search results look like when I search for orchids on mobile:

When you open an individual image, there are three tabs: Attribution, Info and Share. Under attribution, you can get the rich text or HTML code to let you embed the attribution for the image. Info states the title, creator, license, source and dimensions. Tags and related images also show on each individual image page.

See the new site in this gif from the announcement.

Take the new search page for a ride. If you find any problems or want to contribute, visit the project page on GitHub.
